रामानंद सागर रचित पीलित, पीड़ित, अर्ध-आंगनियां
‘बालाजी’ निर्मित द्वेषपूर्ण, कुंठित, पितृसत्तात्मकता की सहेलियां।
राजा रवि वर्मा की नाज़ुक नवेलियां।
जैसे
हर मरियम, हौवा,
सीता, सती, सावित्री के पीछे
छुपाई गई होती हैं
अनगिनत
शाश्वत
ग्राम देवियाँ, यक्षिणियाँ,
नानियाँ, दादियाँ, दीदियाँ ।
पहेली तू नही,
ये तो छल है उन बांके चश्मों का
जो औरत की इंसानियत निथार
देखते हैं उसमे
सिर्फ़
ममत्व,
त्याग,
कपट,
देह।
अबला नहीं, तो बला।
इस दंभी, लोभी, कटु संसार में
ना मिटने के लिए
आत्मसात कर अपनी
श्यामल,
नीलम,
लालिमा,
कालिमा।
सहस्रनामधारिणी
भोगवती,
भूषुण्डी,
चंडिका।
साथ दे
एकलव्य और बिरसा के वंशजों का।
खड़ी हो
अस्तित्व की लड़ाइयों में।
मत खो मगर
वजूद अपना।
अपनी इंसानियत में
और रत।

Unravel the history that is spun ‘til now,
And meet the many Kali, Chandi, Chamunda,
Not the pale, victimized, half-bodied creations of Ramanand Sagar's movies.
Nor the mean, repressed, upholders of patriarchal characters of ‘Balaji’,
Neither the delicate damsels of Raja Ravi Verma.
Just as every Mary, Eve, Sita, Sati, Savitri is used
to hide the innumerable and eternal
Local deities, tribal goddesses, foremothers, mothers, sisters.
You are no enigma.
The mirage of your mystery appears through those crooked lenses,
That filter out your humanity.
All they see instead is
Motherly,
Self-sacrificing,
Deceitful,
Objectified.
To not lose yourself to the conceited, greedy, bitter world
Embrace your
Darkness,
Blueness,
Fieriness.
Be the goddess with a thousand names,
Bhogwati - the indulgent,
Bhushundi - the weapon wielder,
Chandika - the destroyer of evil.
Join forces with the descendants of
Eklavya - the wronged,
Birsa - the murdered.
Lend your strength to all struggles for dignity.
You have the right to exist,
Not as some lesser being,
But as one
who thrives in her undiminished humanity.
